If you’ve run into a contact where Prospect isn’t finding any domain and as a result, not returning an email, there’s a good chance the issue lies with the company not being properly linked on their LinkedIn profile. Let’s walk through what this means and how to fix it.
What’s Going On?
When Prospect can’t detect a company domain, it’s usually because:
The contact’s LinkedIn profile isn’t linked to a real LinkedIn company page, OR
The company itself doesn’t have a LinkedIn page at all.
This often appears as a grey logo in their experience section instead of a proper company logo. That grey logo is LinkedIn’s way of showing the company hasn’t been connected to an official page.
How to Confirm This
Open the contact’s LinkedIn profile.
Scroll to the Experience section.
Look at the company logo:
Grey logo = not linked to a company page.
Color logo = correctly linked.
How to Still Find the Email
If the domain is missing, here’s how to manually find it and get Prospect to do its magic:
Search for the company’s website via Google or Linkedin search.
Copy the domain from the website URL (e.g.,
acmecorp.com
).Open the Prospect panel.
Paste the domain into the domain field.
Hit Find.
Prospect will now search using that domain and should return a verified email address.
