What Does "Out of Network" Mean?

Updated over 2 months ago

When a LinkedIn profile shows "Out of network", it means the person is not connected to you directly or even through a third-degree connection. In short, they're completely outside your LinkedIn network.

You can still engage with these individuals through Prospect by following the steps below:

You’ll notice an “Out of network” label or a third-degree plus icon next to their name, either in your LinkedIn search results or directly on their profile.

  1. Open the contact card in the Prospect sidebar.

  2. Wait a few seconds for the contact’s email and phone number to load.

  3. Click “Create lead/contact.”

Note: Click HERE to see Linkedin's explanation about Out of network profiles.

By following these steps, you can:

  • Add the contact to Salesforce, or

  • Enroll them into SalesLoft sequences or Outreach cadences, regardless of their LinkedIn network status.
